I have a limited knowledge on implements and looking for help. I have a JD 4200 tractor and am looking looking for a 5 foot box blade. I have looked at the Monroe Tufline and it looks to be a piece of equipment. What others are out there and which ones should I stay away from. It will be used for light to medium duty work. Any help would be appreciated.

You're right, the Monroe Tufline boxblades are very well made, and quite heavy. My father-in-law has one of theirs in the 6ft size, I expect his will last forever the way he uses it. I regularly see the cheaper offbrands selling new for approx. $275. I don't think these are as rugged and heavy duty as the M-T brand. Land Pride makes some boxblades which are very good quality, as well as the Bushog brand. ....

I have a 755 (20hp),I thought that a $500 to $600 box blade was a over kill, so I got a cheap 5 1/2' king kutter for $225. It is a lighter blade than the more expencive brands but I've only got 20 horse, as much & as hard as I us this blade I don't belive I'll ever tear it up!My thoughts good luckdana ....

I have a 5 foot boxblade which is an "Acme Bulldog". I don't believe that I can recommend this brand. It has bent several times due to light construction. Roger Loving ....

More times than not,, you'll find that the no name scraper blade that cost 189.99 is a piece of crap. There are always exceptions to this, I sell a scraper blade made by Southern which is inexpensive and very strong. I would recomend it to anyone. ....
